Tag Rugby Blitz 2026 Tournament Details

The Blitz (Tag7s) is now in its 7th year, with teams continuously increasing. This exciting Blackheath tag rugby event will again take place at its iconic location, where the very first game of Rugby was played back in 1871. 

The date set is Saturday, Sept 2nd, featuring a full day of tag action and entertainment as part of the NCR Sports Tag Rugby series. As usual, a designated venue will be arranged for everyone to celebrate and socialize, which is just what we like most. 

Please note that no Saturday leagues will run on this day in Blackheath.

The playing surface for the Blackheath tag rugby matches is grass. Each team in the NCR Sports Tag Rugby league will consist of 7 players on the field (with a maximum squad size of 12). According to league rules, there can be 4 male players (maximum on pitch at any one time) and 3 female players. Team handicaps may include different male/female configurations as advertised. It is the captain's responsibility to ensure all players are registered to avoid disqualification; if in doubt, please get in touch in time for clarifications. All players must be registered for insurance purposes. Additionally, the consumption of alcohol is prohibited until the Tag Rugby 7s tournament has concluded.

Please arrive 60 minutes before the kick-off of the Blackheath tag rugby tournament. A captains briefing for the NCR Sports Tag Rugby teams will take place 30 minutes before kick-off, and attendance is compulsory for all teams. The Tag Rugby 7s tournament will start as advertised unless advised otherwise.

Fixtures for Blackheath tag rugby are currently scheduled at 1pm, 1:45pm, and 2:30pm every Saturday, 365 days a year, unless advised otherwise. Please arrive 15 minutes before kick-off. A captains briefing will take place 5 minutes before the whistle blows (generally).
